PLC [ Programmable Logic Controller ]
릴레이 제어반의 각종 릴레이, 타이머, 카운터 등의 기능을 마이크로프로세서를 이용해 통합시킨 것이다. 이 PLC에 프로그램을 작성함으로써 시퀀스 제어(sequnce control)는 물론 산술 연산, 논리 연산, 함수 연산, 조절 연산 및 데이터 처리를 실행할 수 있다. PLC는 기존의 릴레이에 비해 제어 기능 신뢰성이 뛰어나고 제어 내용을 손쉽게 수정하고 변경할 수 있으며 릴레이에 비해 복잡한 제어 기능을 수행할 수 있는 등 많은 장점을 지니고 있다. PLC를 사용함으로써 얻게 되는 이점으로 프로그램 변경이 쉽고 시스템 확장이 간편해 작업 환경의 변화에 신속히 대응할 수 있다는 점과 유지 보수가 쉽고 신뢰성이 높아 고장을 줄여줌으로써 설비의 가동율이 향상되며 네트워크 기능과 고속의 데이터 처리 기능 및 충분한 용량의 데이터 기억 기능을 갖춰 향후 CIM 구축에 의한 전사 관리가 가능한 점 등을 들 수 있다.
Various relays, timers, counters, and other functions of the relay control panel are integrated using a microprocessor. By writing a program in this PLC, not only sequence control, but also arithmetic operation, logic operation, function operation, adjustment operation and data processing can be executed. Compared to the conventional relay, PLC has many advantages such as superior control function reliability, easy modification and change of control contents, and the ability to perform complex control functions compared to relays. Advantages of using PLC include that it is easy to change programs and expand the system to respond quickly to changes in the work environment. It has a processing function and a data storage function of sufficient capacity, so that it can be managed by CIM in the future.
